| CALL FOR ARTISTS |
Avenue 9's yearly Chico Icons is moving to a new summer time slot, this year opening August 3 to September 1!
Chico Icons 2012:
Endangered Icons
Application deadline:
June 30, 2012 |
“Chico Icons 2012: Endangered Icons” will keep the issue of Bidwell Mansion front and center while also drawing attention to other endangered places such as the Veteran’s Memorial Hall, the Post Office Building on 5th Street, the Matador Motel in additional to our natural treasures, like Bidwell Park, our waterways, and wildlife habitat. What you focus on is your choice, but one item on our wish-list is to create a wall of views of Bidwell Mansion (think of Hokusai or Hiroshige's woodcuts, 36 Views of Mt. Fuji or Hiroshige's 100 views of Edo!). This is the place where Life and Art combine and artists become the best ambassadors to communal dialogue and cultural identity.
