Bruce Ertle

To see Bruce Ertle's new website, see www.bruceertleart.com

Three years ago, artist Bruce Ertle moved from San Diego to Chico, retired from a twenty-five year career as a graphic designer, and now paints full time. He finds beauty and meaning in simple life experiences such as drinking coffee or watching his wife write in her diary. Ertle loves his Avenues neighborhood and often draws painting inspiration from it: "It is a comfortable, intimate world where I am surrounded by neighbors who are happy to live in an historic district, and where all the big trees make me aware of the seasons. I enjoy painting views of my neighbor's yard from my kitchen window as well as other ordinary sights that make up the largest part of everyday experiences." Ertle's exhibition "Life Overlooked" opens at Avenue 9 Gallery with a Friday, January 14, 5-8pm reception. On Sunday, January 16, at 2pm, Ertle will talk about his art. The exhibition runs through February.
