Celia Wedding, a resident of Piedmont, Calif., was born and raised in Stockton, Calif. She received her education at UCSD and at the California College of Arts and Crafts where she received a degree in painting. Her studies also included etching and extensive drawing instruction. She spent the 90’s in Greenwich, Connecticut, teaching, drawing, honing her painting skills and raising her son and daughter. She has exhibited in a variety of one woman and group shows in the Bay Area, the Central Valley and in the Northeastern United States.

Celia started her career working primarily in acrylic and moved on to spend several years focusing on watercolor, including plein air landscape. Her drawing is grounded in some twenty-five years of weekly figure study from life. Currently her interest is printed works on paper. This focus includes, making etchings and monotypes, exploring landscape composition and animal forms.

She has shown and won awards in several juried shows around the country, and most recently was in a group show in Oakland featuring plein air paintings in oil and watercolor as well as studio work from the press and on canvas.
