As a long-time Chico resident, I continue to be enamored with inspirational surroundings. My landscapes are painted with an emphasis on surface texture. I choose vibrant color contrasts to heighten natural light, thus creating an atmosphere which defies realistic depiction but hints at familiar locales. I start with a rough sketch to limn a composition and then push and pull paint to capture my excitement in each chosen scene.
