On her website, Marilyn Rose quotes Robert Frost who wrote, "Most of the change we think we see in life is due to truths being in and out of favor."  Substituting the word "art" for "life," she continues, "helps me make sense of my constant quest for those truths.  I hope never to be thought of as a particular type of artist who practiced a specific mannerism, but one who constantly searched for the underlying principles of fine art and grew in understanding and expression of those principles."

Early in life, Rose put aside her first inclinations to become an artist to work instead in a career as an electromechanical and architectural draftstman.  It was not until 20 years passed that she began once again to study arts.  Since then, she has studied with many fine artists and learned much from many more "silent mentors from the past."  Her goal is to be the finest painter that she can be.
