Karen Luke constantly challenges herself to see the world in new ways. It’s not the subject, it’s the essence, the core nature that matters. Karen studied music and martial arts on the East Coast before coming to California in 1988 where she was drawn to the drama of land, sea and sky. She has studied in workshops with noted painters Scott Burdick, Joseph Mendez, Jim Smyth and Jove Wang. She is obtaining her MFA at the Academy of Art in San Francisco. Her art has been exhibited in such venues as the Carmel Art Festival, the Greenhouse Gallery of Fine Art, San Antonio, and the Englewood Arts Center, Colorado.
