Karen Frey has been painting in watercolor and oils for forty four years. She received her BFA from the California College of Arts, Oakland, and is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society as well as Watercolor West. She says: "I have always been drawn to representational imagery and strive to paint what I see. The trick is to constantly re-evaluate one’s perceptions in order to keep the work fresh and challenging." Her work is in collections of The Springfield Art Museum, Springfield Missouri, Kaiser Permanente, Oakland, and other venues. Her solo show "Hula Palms and Other Tropical Delights" was featured at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Florida this past January. Her work has been featured in American Artist and The Artist Magazine.
