Dee Danley-Brown

The Creek in Autumn

The Blue Door

Dee Danley-Brown's unique pieces exhibited at the gallery are (from top to bottom): The Crow, The Gates, The Blue Door.

All three pieces are photographs on silk, quilted, affixed to canvas, the canvas then completing the picture with acrylic paint.

Artist's Statement

DEE DANLEY-BROWN

My work is a reflection of my life and experiences.  My passion for design, color, landscape, paper, nature, architecture, humor, cloth, growing things, thread, people, art and family, all join together when I create objects.

I hope that my work gives others some of the joy I feel as I make it!

My art quilts were included in the Smithsonian traveling exhibit: The Art Quilt: Playingwith a Full Deck, and were given a solo exhibit at the Morning Calm Gallery, NYC.  Recently my art has appeared at the Upper Crust Gallery and Chico Art Center.   Country Living Magazine and Family Circle Magazine have commissioned me to create works.

Above, from top to bottom, Danley-Brown's masks are made of fabric and thread collage.  They are: Jazz Man, Dorothy Ditz, and Billie Blue. Below: Mailable fabric postcards!  Read on.

Dee Danley-Brown is an innovator.  Among her beautiful works available at the gallery are postcards that can be sent in the mail.  She will be giving a demonstration, "Fabric Postcards" on Sunday, September 10, 1-2 p.m. at the gallery. Like our other demonstrations, this one is free to the public.
